Day 3, September 4, 2013, Montague, MI

Set off from Grove City a little past 9am and arrived in Montague, MI at 5pm.

We had frequent stops on the way to resolve GPS issues and finally decided that if we were having this many problems where there is good cell service we had better buy a GPS for when we are in the back of beyond! So we stopped at a Costco in Grand Rapids, MI and bought a Garmin GPS! We are staying at the Weathervane Inn in Montague, a very nice hotel right on the shores of White Lake overlooking a marina. Our room is on the 2nd floor and has its own private balcony that we can sit on and watch the boats. On the drive through Ohio its really like driving on a table top, it's flat, flat, flat!

We went for a walk around Montague, I had to post some letters and we saw the world's largest weathervane, guess that's where the inspiration for the hotel's name comes from.

That's a great leg
Had dinners at Gary's Restaurant in Whitehall, just across the White River from Montague and then after dinner went out to the shore of Lake Michigan to the entrance of the White River and saw the old light house and then walked along the pier to see fisherman angling for Salmon and Walleye. Saw a few fish caught, pretty big ones actually.
