Thursday August 1st - Kristiansand

We had a smooth crossing overnight from Copenhagen and berthed in Kristiansand at about 9:30am. As usual we were having a late breakfast with the gang at that time! Before breakfast I had the chance to take a few photos of our entry to the port.

We met up with Phil and Lynne at 10:30am and had an enjoyable stroll around the town, before returning to the QV at about 2:30pm. Kristiansand is a small town in Southern Norway and only has a population of about 70,000, but is a popular summer vacation spot for Norwegians as it is so far south. We toured a fish market and then around the old town and visited the Cathedral before a return trip to the fish market to buy some pickled herring.

We cast off at 4pm and had a laugh as a stuffed moose that had been on the dockside as a photo backdrop was taken back into storage on the front end of a loader!
