Matt drove us to the airport in Raleigh
this morning and we caught our flight to New York's JFK arriving just
a little late after a 30 minute ground hold at Raleigh. We had booked
a car service to get to our hotel and our driver was waiting for us
when we got to baggage claim. The normal 45 minute trip to our hotel
at Times Square took almost an hour and a half, accidents and traffic
volume! We checked in early and quickly raided our suitcases for some
warm clothes as the temperature in New York was a chilly 52F!!!! A
quick lunch at the hotel and then off to explore the wonderland of
the B&H photo shop, a photographer's heaven. On the way back to
the hotel we cruised around Times Square, but didn't linger as it was
pouring with rain and felt like winter! Let's hope the weather is
better tomorrow for the start of our transatlantic passage.
